Welcome to the website dedicated to the WISA Wooden Design Hotel. The WISA Wooden Design hotel is an architectural gem of wood situated in the maritime heart of Helsinki.
The work was designed by interior architect Pieta-Linda Auttila. She hopes to spark interest in wood and highlight its role in building and design.
The WISA Wooden Design Hotel is an outstanding example of wood’s versatility. Here, wood works both as a load-bearing structure and decor in walls, ceilings and floors.
Competition Results
The WISA Wooden Design Hotel is a result of the WISA 24h Wooden Design Workshop competition organised by UPM. The competitors had 24 hours to design an approximately 30 to 40 m² / 150 m³ wooden building called WISA Wooden Design Hotel.
